If there is an answer out there I cannot seem to find it. Unfortunately Microsoft is known for this kind of thing and likely took measures to make sure the game and save states stay within the ecosystem. I did the same thing but bought the DC on Steam, although the file paths between Epic and Steam appear to be the same.
